How to make House drums
Drums are among the most important components of any electronic dance track. Powerful, punchy kick combined with a good rocking percussion can work wonders - and this is particularly noticeable in the house and techno music, where opportunities to diversify the rhythm are harder to find than in breaks and in drum and bass tracks. And in today's techno and house music beautiful, well produced percussion is simply a “must have”.
Tribal motifs are making a comeback, just listen to the latest tracks and mixes of the masters such as John Digweed, Guy J, Dosem or Deepfunk, to see this.
Add a commentCompressor explained
When I first started making music, I was very curious about compression. What does it mean to compress sound? I watched many tutorials, read a bunch of articles, but I did not find the real answer. Everywhere says that the compressor reduces the dynamic range of the signal. But that didn't make it clear to me why I would need it. And yet, the compressor makes the signal punchy. What does this really mean though? What would happen if I change any controls in the compressor, would the signal become less punchy?

How to make your own Dubstep instrument
Many dubstep producers like to use Massive synth. You can hear its special sound in many tracks. I used to use this synth too, but later decided to make my own tool. In this video tutorial I'll show you the basic idea of making the instrument. Improve and refine this idea yourself for your own unique sound!
Add a commentHow to make Neuro bass in Ableton Live
Once, a very long time ago I listened to tracks from Noisia and was stunned by this sound. I called it a lion growling bass and a bit later I learned that it is called a neurofunk bassline. I tried to recreate this unusual sound. I've read and learned from a lot of tutorials; I even read one from Noisia! After many experiments I learned how to do my own neuro bass. It wasn't that good to start with, but sounded ok.
After years of work, I can now show you how to make this sound!
